What a month of regular classes at Hatha Haven actually felt like, from the first nervous visit to the point where the routine started to stick.
"I walked in with zero experience and a fair amount of hesitation. Four weeks later, I know the difference between a forward fold and a seated twist, and I actually look forward to Tuesday evenings. The instructor remembers names, corrects gently, and never makes you feel behind."

Attended 12 beginner hatha classes over four weeks
I had no idea what to bring, what to wear, or whether I'd be able to keep up. The studio's welcome email covered all of it — mat rental, water, arriving ten minutes early. That removed most of the guesswork before I even walked through the door.
The poses started to feel familiar. I stopped checking the clock and began noticing my breath during the longer holds. The class size stayed small — never more than eight people — which meant the instructor could actually watch my alignment and adjust my shoulders when I rounded them.
Don't buy a full set of props before your first class. Use what the studio offers, see which poses you actually enjoy, and build your home kit from there. Also, the Tuesday evening class is quieter than the Saturday morning one — if you're easing in, start midweek.
